Rigby, "Navajoe and Britannia Brent Reef Challenge Cup", 40x60 Boat Oil Painting
By Adrian Rigby
Located in Saratoga Springs, NY
Yachts Navajoe and Britannia both were constructed at the end of the 1800s, commissioned by UK royalty. This painting depicts a neck-and-neck race between the two giants off the coast of Dover, England. Sailors in their white and blue uniforms can be seen on the deck of each boat. They are tying ropes down or steering the rudder, trying to get the upper hand on their opponent's vessel. This highly detailed painting has a regal presence and would make a great addition to any maritime collection.
