Both the beginning and the end of Charles Eyck's life (1897 - 1983) took place in the Dutch province of Limburg. In his life he produced paintings, sculptures, buildings and stained glass. After studying in Asmterdam he won the prestigious Prix de Rome in 1922. With the prize money he travelled through France and Italy to study art.
