A wonderfully composed, abstract designed limited edition silkscreen serigraph print by American artist Dean Meeker. This work is titled "Portofino" and is one of his more elusive/rare and hard-to-find images. The print is hand-pencil signed, titled, and numbered (Edition of 50) by the artist. Dean Jackson Meeker (born in Madison, Wisconsin, 1920-2002) was an internationally recognized sculptor, painter, and printmaker. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Northwestern University, and the University of Wisconsin. In 1958, Meeker was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship for 1959 and 1960 to study printmaking in Europe. In Paris, he worked at Hayter's printmaking workshop, Atelier 17, and with printmaker Kaiko Moti while also studying in museums in Spain and Italy. 3-D hand cut geometric abstract by listed artist Anne Youkeles (1920-) Austrian /American, trained in both the United States and Vienna, She studied at Ohio State University in the United States, and at the Kunstgewerbe Schule de Vienna, in Austria. This art work is a combination of a silk screened base with the paper hand cut and folding creating the 3-D effect. The primary colors are a gray base with purple, green, orange and aqua marine. The background are bands of solid and finer gray stripes against the diamond patterns. Framed in a custom handmade aluminum frame with the corners welded smooth and polished protected with UV acrylic over the art work.
