An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver goblet; an addition to our collection of wine and drinks related silverware This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver goblet has a circular bell shaped form onto a knopped stem and circular spreading foot. The body of this 1870s silver goblet is embellished with bright cut engraved foliate festoons accented with pensile leaf drops; these vertical designs form four cartouches. The cartouche to one side bears a bright cut engraved fruit design; the further three remain vacant. The knopped stem is encircled with a plain moulded border to the centre. The foot is ornamented with further bright cut engraved overlapping arch designs, accented with an applied bead decorated border to the rim. Condition This antique 1870s silver goblet is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The goblet has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp and the applied ornamentation is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the goblet are all very clear. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver castle top vinaigrette depicting Abbotsford House, an addition to our collectable box collection. This exceptional antique silver vinaigrette has a rectangular form with rounded corners. The cover of this fine vinaigrette is embellished with a scene of Abbotsford House in high relief. The sides of the box are encompassed with bands of chased scrolling leaf ornamenation. The underside of the box is ornamented with engine turned decoration incorporating a plain rectangular vacant cartouche. Both the base and cover are embellished with applied scrolling leaf decorated borders. The hinged silver vinaigrette cover allows access to the original hallmarked hinged, pierced decorated silver gilt grille. The vinaigrette retains the original gilding; this has worn with age in a sympathetic fashion to an aesthetically pleasing mellow color. This exceptional vinaigrette was crafted by the renowned silversmith Nathaniel Mills. A historical country house which was the former residence of renowned novelist and poet Sir Walter Scott, situated in the Scottish Borders. Condition This antique vinaigrette is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The decoration is very sharp. This exceptional antique sterling silver bowl has a circular form onto a circular domed foot. The lower portion of this antique silver bowl is encircled with a band of impressive chased alternating fluted and batwing decoration, all in an spiral design. The upper portion of the bowl is ornamented with a scalloped fluted border, to a plain applied moulded border to the rim. The foot is encircled with further chased fluted decoration, matching the design to the body.
