Beltran Bofill Art

Spanish, 1934-2009
Joan Beltran Bofill (Badalona, June 17, 1934 - Pollença, April 14, 2009) was a figurative painter with noisy connotations. He studied at the Sant Jordi Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts and at the Llotja school in Barcelona. As a young man he worked for RBA in the El Molino collection, illustrating, among others, works by Agatha Christie. His first contact with the island of Mallorca was when he joined the ranks in Pollença. That light and landscape provided him with idyllic conditions that he masterfully reflected in his works. He exhibited at the Wally Findlay Galleries International Galleries (Paris, New York, Chicago, Palm Beach). From 1960 to 1973 he left painting in the background. In 1984 he published the book "Beltran Bofill". Until the last few days, he continued to search for the themes that were his source of inspiration in the light and landscape of Pollença.

18th century diptych portraits man and woman American formal dress flower
By William Jennys
Located in Milwaukee, WI
The present pair of portraits would make an exceptional addition to any collection of early American art not only because they were painted by the notable William Jennys, but also because the sitters are members of notable and influential New England families. In addition, these pendants have impeccable provenance: they have never left ownership of the decedents of the Kimball family and this is the first time they have been available for purchase. David Kimball (1766-1848) and Nancy Stacy Kimball (1774-1844) were members of historic Massachusetts families. David Kimball is a sixth-generation decedent of Richard Kimball (d. 1675) and Ursula Scott (d. 1659), who emigrated from Rattlasden, Suffolk County, England to Watertown MA around 1634. The family then relocated in 1637 to Ipswich, the city with which the family is now most strongly identified, when Richard was appointed to be a wheelwright.[1] Nancy likewise had early New England ancestry, descended from Simon Stacy and Elizabeth Clark, who were married in London in 1620.[2] Nancy Stacy was the second wife of David Kimball, and the two were married in 1799. Given this, the present pendant portraits were likely completed shortly after the marriage. David had two children by his first wife Mary Morse, who died in September of 1798. David and Nancy would have nine additional children between 1801 and 1815.[3] Most notably, the couple were parents of the Boston politician and showman Moses Kimball (1809-1895).[2][3] Moses would found the Boston Museum, an early for-profit museum and theater opened in 1841 that resembled European curiosity cabinets: the museum displayed paintings of Thomas Scully and Charles Peale alongside Chinese artwork, stuffed animals, dwarves and mermaids. Alongside these exhibits, visitors could attend the theater which held performances by gymnasts and contortionists, followed by performances of Shakespeare and Dickens.[4] This museum set the model for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, which when founded in 1870 held a similarly diverse collection and appealed to the interests of a diverse set of visitors.[5] Moreover, some Greek antiquities from Moses Kimball's museum were eventually given to the MFA and Moses donated approximately $5,000 to the MFA's endowment upon his death.[6][7] William Jennys (1774–1859), also known as J. William Jennys, is an important American primitive portrait...

Contemporary figurative oil painting canvas "I will always stand by your side"
Located in VÉNISSIEUX, FR
This contemporary figurative oil painting depicting two women was created by French artist Natalya Mougenot. The artwork, titled I Will Always Stand by Your Side, presents a poignant and emotionally charged scene, capturing the intimate embrace of two women. The painting reflects the artist's roots and cultural background, establishing a profound spiritual connection with the women she portrays. The bond between the two women—whether sisters, friends, or a mother and daughter—is undeniably one of mutual reliance. They are each other’s rock and shelter, supporting one another in times of difficulty and challenge. The piece speaks to the strength one person offers another, particularly during challenging moments. Central to the work is the theme of womanhood, femininity, and the powerful spiritual connection between the artist and the women featured in her art. The piece also explores emotional transparency—qualities like strength, courage, determination, sensitivity, kindness, and authenticity—allowing for an intimate portrayal of the vulnerability and resilience shared between the figures. The two women are depicted with minimalistic detail, their connection highlighted through form and color rather than facial features. One woman is adorned in red, while the other is painted in blue, symbolizing contrasting yet complementary forces. The bold, expressive brushstrokes create a sense of immediacy, while the serene, muted teal background offers a calming atmosphere that envelops the embrace. The absence of discernible features on the figures directs the viewer’s focus to the embrace itself, making it the central emotional element of the painting. This anonymity invites viewers to project their own experiences and emotions onto the scene, creating a universal appeal. The harmonious interplay of warm and cool tones enhances the themes of connection and compassion, as the figures merge to form a unified whole. I Will Always Stand by Your Side is a powerful exploration of human connection, presented with a captivating simplicity that speaks volumes. The artist’s unique approach to color and form invites a deep emotional engagement, offering both beauty and meaning. The piece is created with oil paints on stretched linen canvas and is ready to hang. It is sold unframed, giving the buyer the freedom to frame it according to personal taste and interior style. The artwork will be carefully packed and shipped internationally from France, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Created in the artist’s Lyon...
