Ben Frost Paintings

Australian

Australian contemporary artist Ben Frost is best known for his bold, irreverent Pop art. His instantly recognizable take on pop culture twists up everyday iconography from the world’s biggest brands. Subverting meaning and messages from the mainstream media, Frost’s scything commentary on advertising, entertainment and politics is both confronting and controversial.

Exhibiting internationally for the past two decades, Frost’s solo shows span London, New York, Sydney, Los Angeles, Toronto, Singapore, Berlin, Miami, Torino, Bangkok and San Francisco. His work has been featured extensively across media institutions such as the BBC, Wall Street Journal, Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.

Most notable fashion collaborations include working with Jeremy Scott to produce 2018's Fall/Winter Capsule Collection for Moschino, launching at Milan Fashion Week, and partnering with Carolina Herrera for a limited edition release of her 212 Pop! fragrance. Frost has also worked on projects with Pearl Jam, Rossignol, Mambo, Livid Music Festival and J&B Whiskey.

Frost's exhibition highlights encompass shows at the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane; the MCA in Sydney; the Urban Nation Museum for Urban Contemporary Art, Berlin; and inclusion in an exclusive showcase of artists for "Pop the Streets" at Saatchi Gallery, London.

Damien Hirst Spin Painting (Damien Hirst shark spin painting)
By Damien Hirst
Located in NEW YORK, NY
Damien Hirst Spin Painting 2009: A mesmerizing Damien Hirst Spin painting with explosions of vivid color amidst the timeless, mysterious form of a shark. This Damien Hirst Spin painting originates from Hirst’s ‘Spin Workshop’ - a public event hosted by the artist to celebrate the opening of his heralded 2009 exhibition: ‘Requiem’ at the PinchukArtCentre, Ukraine. Acrylic on paper. 2009. 19.25 x 26.5 inches. Excellent overall condition. Unique; one of. Features a stamped (printed) signature on the reverse and inscription: © Damien Hirst. A beautifully rendered Damien Hirst painting defined by strong colors, classic Hirst motifs & a unique overall presence. Artist Bio: Damien Hirst is a British Conceptual artist known for his controversial take on beauty and found-art objects. Along with Liam Gillick, Tracey Emin, and Sarah Lucas, Hirst was part of the Young British Artists movement that rose to prominence in the early 1990s. “I have always been aware that you have to get people listening before you can change their minds,” he reflected. “Any artist's big fear is being ignored, so if you get debate, that's great.” Born on June 7, 1965 in Bristol, United Kingdom, Hirst was raised in Leeds. As a student at Goldsmiths College in London, his work caught the eye of the collector and gallerist Charles Saatchi, who became an early patron. Hirst’s The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living (1991)—a large vitrine containing an Australian tiger shark suspended in formaldehyde—was financed by Saatchi and helped to launch the artist’s career. Hirst went on to win the coveted Turner Prize in 1995. In 2012, he showed what went on to be one of his most controversial work in decades, the installation In and Out of Love, which consisted of two white windowless rooms in which over 9,000 butterflies flitted around and died. In 2015 Hirst opened the Newport Street Gallery in London, which grew from his long-term ambition to share his art collection with the public. The artist lives and works in London, United Kingdom. His works are held in the collections of the Tate Gallery in London, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C., and the Rubell Family Collection in Miami. Surreal Botanical Portrait with Yellow Daisies and Toy Soldier – Fetishes Series
By Natasha Lelenco
Located in FISTERRA, ES
This striking acrylic painting by Moldovan-Spanish artist Natasha Lelenco features a surreal anthropomorphic portrait constructed from lush green leaves and blooming yellow daisies, blending botanical precision with symbolic intensity. The central figure’s face, composed entirely of flowers, is both haunting and tender, while a pink tongue and tiny plastic toy soldier create a poignant contrast that challenges the viewer’s perception of innocence, violence, and the natural world. Set against a softly gradated sky-blue background, the painting invites reflection on ecological fragility and the absurdity of human conflict. Part of the acclaimed “Fetishes” series, this work is inspired by Giuseppe Arcimboldo’s botanical portraits, reinterpreted with contemporary urgency. Lelenco’s painting critiques war and environmental destruction through a visual language that is as poetic as it is unsettling. The toy soldier, perched delicately on a green leaf-arm, acts as a miniature symbol of violence embedded in play, questioning the narratives we inherit and enact. The piece was originally commissioned for Imaxinaria, Mostra Internacional de Ilustración Contemporánea in Galicia (Spain) and remains one of the most iconic works of the series. Medium: Acrylic on board Dimensions: [Insert exact dimensions] Year: 2022 Framing: Painted edges, ready to hang, no frame needed Signed by the artist Keywords: Acrylic botanical portrait, Anti-war painting, Contemporary Arcimboldo style...
