b. 1930
Bette Lou Voorhis, an oil painting artist, began her formal training at the age of 13 in Minnesota. Upon graduation from high school, Voorhis started working as a secretary for 3M in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was soon spending considerable time illustrating company reports, which led to the decision to pursue her creative talents professionally. She studied under the direction of many noted artists, and is a graduate of the Texas School of Fine Arts.
