This is an incredible 1940s-style Biba dress in black, grey and ivory bonded wool jersey from the early 1970s (c. 1973) with the characteristic accentuated and padded shoulders. Its twin is documented in the book “The Biba Years 1963-1975“ by Barbara Hulanicki and Martin Pel. It features a fitted black bodice that shows ivory-coloured angled lapels and a square decorative button in the center. The grey skirt flares towards the hemline. The black long sleeves are narrow and end in ivory-coloured fold-over pointy cuffs. The dress is unlined, zips up the center back and finishes just below the knee. It wears the printed art nouveau label.
