Extremely rare Hjertestolen ('Heart chair') by Brøndbyøster Møbel & Trævarefabrik.
Made in the early 1950s in Denmark, this peculiar chair with its simple base and exuberant heart shaped back is elegant and exotic at the same time. The seat is oval shaped and supported by modest round tapered legs. The seat is straight on the sides and rounded on the top. Original striped fabric is used for the seat and the border of the backrest, framing the velvet heart. Five brown buttons in the backrest add a Classic feel to the chair. The rounded backrest follows the shape of the seat and the sides reach up and around as if it is hugging you. All upholstery is finished off with piping details.
