A fine and impressive antique German silver bread dish; an addition to our continental dining silverware collection This fine antique German silver bread dish has a plain oval boat shaped form. The body of this impressive silver dish is embellished with fine and impressive tapering pierced fluted decoration, incorporating an applied undulating fruiting vine design to the lower portion. The upper and lower rims are encompassed with applied stylized foliate decoration; the upper rim features conjoined alternating motifs and the lower portion reflects the Classic egg and tongue design. The ornamentation to the body incorporates a semi-circular inset handle to either end, encompassed with a paralleling plain applied molded border. The well of this fine example of antique silverware is plain and unembellished.
