Acer - Ancient Architecture and Striking Blue Door Amidst Lush Landscape

Located in Chicago, IL
A portal is suspended in a lush green landscape in Carol Pylant's work titled "Porta d' Acer". The surreal scene is awash with rich greens against a terra cotta colored stucco wall in which the arched doorway is set. The piece is matted with a thick mat and framed in a simple black wooden frame measuring 19 x 21.625 inches. Museum glass is also used.

The landscape, while lush and inviting, is seemingly impossible, yet it draws us in and leads us to wonder what lies beyond the other doors. This watercolor is matted with a heavy white mat and framed in a washed grey wooden frame measuring 17.25 x 14.875 inches.

Ascencio - Ancient Architectural Arched Doorways Leading to Verdant Landscape

An ancient stone doorway is cut into a ochre colored wall revealing gentle staircase leading to a verdant landscape that is just out of view. The rough surface on the walls of this small painting is reminiscent of the stucco so very common throughout Spain where the artist lived for a time. The piece is matted and framed with an white washed oak frame measuring 16 x 17.875 inches.
