An oversized Agatewear ewer or water pitcher, from the ‘Agate’ toiletwares line in the ‘Pompiean’ shape, Copeland and Garrett, Spode - circa 1840. Copeland and Garrett operated from 1833-1847 in Stoke-on-Trent, England. Agateware vessels are made up of a white clay stained with metallic oxides to create a swirl of multi-colored clays.
