All painted wood surfaces have been professionally sanded, primed, and refinished; the formerly green doors now glow in a canary yellow lacquer that captures the playful, optimistic spirit of the 1970s. The body is a crisp white that contrasts beautifully with the yellow doors. Chrome pulls and the laminate top have been buffed to a glass-like shine, restoring both brilliance and tactile smoothness. Behind two hinged doors sits a removable/adjustable shelf, enabling flexible storage for records, media components, or barware. The restoration team pulled no punches on this authentic Raymond Loewy DF-2000 mini-credenza console, and the end result exceeded our expectations. We re-finished the rosewood on both front and back to accentuate the contrast between all of the diverse materials that make up this unit. As you can see, this console is fully finished in rosewood on the back and attractive from every direction. The bottom spanner was re-painted white and the cherry red, injection molded plastic drawer fronts were finally buffed and polished to a glassy shine. The top section drawer cabinet is separate from the base, and can be lifted off and screwed in place if desired. The bottom is a rosewood platform with polished chrome legs attached underneath.
