Elizabeth Gregory Kent was born in San Jose, California, on April 28, 1901. Kent grew up in Berkeley and studied art in Paris. She was a classical sculptor and abstract painter. Her husband of 52 years was history professor Sherman Kent. She died in Washington, D.C., on April 29, 1996.
