REFLECTIONS 1 - Contemporary Atmospheric Landscape, Modern Seascape Painting
By Grzegorz Wójcik
Located in Salzburg, AT
A few words of the artist about his art: When i painting landscapes, I usually choose simple geometric arrangements, contrasts of verticals and levels. I juxtapose the smooth surface of the sky with the rough texture of earth or grass. I paint symmetrical reflections in water and rhythmic repetitions of trees. Even an ordinary, seemingly uninteresting fragment of the suburban landscape hides a beauty that I want to see and then transfer to the canvas. I am inspired by nature because it contains a hidden secret of existence. For me, painting it is a reflection on life and passing away. It is an attempt to capture the imperceptible essence, to paint what cannot be seen. I think that my paintings can be a respite, an antidote for a man tired of technology, constant rush, hustle and bustle of the city. Grzegorz Wójcik...

View from the Train: Cityscape Oil Painting, View of Brooklyn
By Patty Neal
Located in Hudson, NY
View from the Train, 2019 24" X 40" x 1", oil on canvas This contemporary oil painting depicting a metropolitan view is the work of realist painter Patty Neal. The painting offers an intimate view of the city, as seen from a window, as it peeks from behind two metal structures. The dark browns and bright golds beautifully compliment the dusty blue, gray sky. Neal works highlight everyday city scenes, utilitarian infrastructure, and industrial or electrical apparatus. Artist statement: A life is an accumulation of experiences: visual, emotional and mental. By compartmentalizing these snippets of life we create boundaries. The focus of my work for many years has been the exploration of these various life aspects and how they are bound together or bound from each other. My process is often literally composed of boundaries. I make a painting by putting together multiple panels, or I segment a single panel into separate visual spaces. The works are made up of pieces or elements of city and landscape. While exploring the concepts of boundaries I play with visual “reality.” Sometimes I combine images that are upside down with those that are not and juxtapose images from different contexts. Literal boundaries, such as walls fences, expanses of water and highway median strips are also used. My intent is to invite viewers to look beyond these boundaries to see the possibilities of a connected whole. Abstract coral reef painting will add some exotic atmosphere to your house or office. ⭐ ABOUT ARTIST ⭐ 🎓 Education: 2000-2006 - Degree of Interior Design from Ulyanovsk State University 1995-2000 - School of Fine Arts Was published in art magazines and journals, participated in group and solo exhibitions. Artworks are in private collections all over the world: USA, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, France, Spain, South Africa, Egypt, Australia, Japan, Singapore. The main focus of my painting is underwater world. I draw my inspiration during scuba diving. Underwater I have learnt not only about the many life-forms, but the shapes and colors of everything in that realm continue to blow my mind. I feel like I am in another dimension. I am an artist one of the new pioneers in the growing field of underwater painting and Andre Laban follower. I developed my own special course of underwater painting and approved it in PADI. By teaching people scuba diving and underwater painting I open a new world of inspiration, artistry and creativity. I help people to experience artistic way to live. Scuba Divers witness the changes happening in the ocean – and can be among the first to raise the awareness of others to these growing problems. Nowadays most scuba divers have underwater cameras, to record the treasures and tragedies happening underwater – in this case evidence of the destruction of marine life. Art too, is a very effective tool and medium to communicate these messages. My art is my language. I would like to make people more human, more spiritual, to find their soul, love and kindness through the reunion with nature. So I am very happy to have opportunity to attract people by my art to the nature, in diver to find an art person and show a new reality – underwater world to art person. I believe that with my paintings more people will fall in love with the world of the sea, and become involved in the protection of our oceans for future generations to enjoy and wonder at. That is what I wish to come of these works and this experience in my life. That is what I wish to come of these works and this experience in my life. "Tree Line Sublime" contemporary impasto oil painting of dark forest landscape
By Emily Persson
Located in Sag Harbor, NY
"Tree Line Sublime" is a contemporary oil painting of a dark forest landscape. Persson works primarily with a palette knife, in fact, the same knife her grandmother painted with. This tool aids in creating the long depth of field we see in her landscapes—with objects in the foreground physically popping off the canvas and features in background melting away with one swipe. In Tree Line Sublime, the largest work by Persson we’ve shown in the gallery so far, the painted bark not only visually represents the look of the bark, but physically represents its rough and varied texture as well. Emily Persson is a Melbourne based artist who has been creating oil paintings with a palette knife for three years. Emily is a multi-generational artist with roots in Brisbane, Australia. A Foreground of green is met by a curved coastline. The water reflects the clouded overcast sky, a deep sea of white paint is accented by hints of blue. Earlier this year, Australia was devastated by pervasive bush-fires, due to record breaking temperatures and months of severe drought. That Time Again
By Emily Persson
Located in Sag Harbor, NY
"That Time Again" is an oil painting of the Australian landscape. Painted with a palette knife, the paint is laid on thick. Three dimensional texture of the paint creates realistic forms via shadow and highlights. A somewhat abstract method of painting creates a contemporary realist depiction of nature. A field of green is accented by pink flowers, and a glowing pink horizon from the setting sun. Emily Persson is a Melbourne based artist who has been creating oil paintings with a palette knife for three years. Emily is a multi-generational artist with roots in Brisbane, Australia.
