Friedrich Perlberg Drawings and Watercolor Paintings
Johann Friedrich Perlberg was a German architecture and landscape painter from Nuremberg. From 1868–75, he studied architecture and landscape painting at the Nuremberg School of Applied Arts and in Paris. Perlberg’s main place of work was in Munich, but he also painted in Italy and Spain, and above all in the Orient. In 1896, he made a trip to Egypt, Nubia and Sudan. In 1898, Perlberg was part of the train of Kaiser Wilhelm II's trip to the Holy Land, Palestine. His watercolors were often reproduced as postcards .
