Large and Exquisite Etruscan Revival pale pink hand carved conch shell cameo of Medusa, American, 1875. Set in 14K yellow gold with an acid finish or "bloom" so that the gold color is a rich but soft finish (not highly polished) which appears to be a high, 20 or 22, karat gold. This brooch/pendant is a vertical oval (denoting the 2nd half of the 19th century) measures 3-1/16 inches tall, by 2-1/8th inches wide without the 5/8 inch long pendant bale.
