Gottfried Salzmann was born on March 26, 1943, in Saalfelden, Austria.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1963 to 1965, and then continued his education at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1965 to 1968.
He exhibited for the first time in 1969 in Salzburg.
Originally recognized primarily as a watercolorist, Salzmann expanded his artistic practice to include drawing, engraving, and photography. He is known for occasionally painting over his photographs, especially when away from his watercolor materials.
In 1989, he illustrated Jean-Paul Sartre’s Situations of New York with a series of lithographs, published by the Bibliophiles de France.

He studied from 1963 to 1965 at the school of fine arts of Vienne and then, from 1965 to 1968, at the Beaux-Arts of Paris. He exhibited for the first time in 1969 in Salzburg.
He paints in watercolor, is also a draftsman, an engraver and a photographer; He sometimes painted on his pictures when he left the watercolor.
In 1989, he illustrated by lithographs Situations de New York by Jean-Paul Sartre (edition Les Bibliophiles de France ).

DeWitt Lockman began painting at the age of four in Brooklyn. By the age of seven, his family had moved to New York, where he worked with the animal painter James H. Beard. He later studied with Nelson Bickford and William Sartain. He was in Europe, principally in France, England, and Holland, from 1891 to 1892 and again from 1901 to 1902. In the years between the two European trips, Lockman painted little, suffering from ill-health. Resuming his artistic activities in the early years of the century, Lockman also served in the Office of Naval Intelligence from 1917 to 1918. He married Evelyn Walker in 1946. Although his oeuvre also includes still life and animal pictures, Lockman was most successful as a portraitist, painting over 500 works in that genre. Mariette Lydis (Vienna 1887 - Buenos Aires 1970) is an Austrian painter and illustrator who was successful in Paris in the 1930s, in Montparnasse and then in Argentina, where she emigrated in 1940. Mariette Lydis was born on 24 August in Vienna, Austria 1887. From 1919 to 1922 she signed her works with the initials MPK for Marietta Pachoffer Karñy, a name derived from her first marriage in 1910 to Julius Koloman Pachoffer-Karñy, who died on 22 April 1922. Subsequently she lived in different cities around Europe, among others: Athens and Florence. She moved to France from 1926 to 1939, during these years she exhibited and became a member of the Salon d'Automne.
