Goyo Dominguez, a Spanish-born painter, is a romantic realist who paints figuratively with a unique sense of vision, beauty and imagination. His compositions, depicted with great technical skill and style, are compelling and serene, often with enchanting subject matters. Dominguez spent his formative years studying for the priesthood, which later was to have a profound effect on his work. He gave up his vocation to devote himself entirely to painting and studied Fine Arts at Madrid’s Complutense University. The demanding self-disciplines of his ecclesiastical upbringing and training reveal themselves in his natural intellectual ability to assimilate the history and culture of his homeland and to portray these roots in an ordered harmony of form and color His fascination with works of the 16th and 17th centuries inspires his favorite themes, still life, the human body and landscape.
