A fine and impressive antique Chinese Export Silver swing handled basket; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection.
This fine antique Chinese Export Silver (CES) basket has an oval shaped form onto an oval swept foot.
The body of this silver basket is embellished with fine and impressive pierced and embossed decoration depicting two iconic Chinese dragons amidst clouds.
The decoration to the body incorporates a circular vacant cartouche to either end.
The shaped border has embossed scroll and floral ornamentation to the rim.
This Chinese silver basket retains the original wirework style swing handle.
The concaved central well of this basket is plain and unembellished.
The impressive swept foot of this basket is encircled with a band of pierced decorated floral motifs.
