Cane Flip Top Storage Twin Headboards a Pair
Located in Topeka, KS
Awesome vintage Mid-Century Modern walnut & cane flip top storage twin headboards, a pair. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, the interior storage space has been painted black to finish it off. But even though the tops have been sanded, there are still some stubborn stains on both tops. And a few minor scratches and nicks on the sides & face. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Mid-20th Century.
Serious question… What are TWINS’ favorite fruit??? PEARS!!! Get it!! LOL… Ok, well, This is a fabulous “pair” of “twin” sized headboards comprised of walnut frames, rectangular natural cane insets, and they have a flip top feature which reveals a totally open interior storage space!!! I mean… That’s a MASSIVE amount of storage!!! Not to mention… a GREAT hiding place!! HaHa!! Just kidding… don’t do that!! The interior of the storage space has been painted black and they are lined with natural cedar… no moths allowed!! We believe this duo was custom made and they are ready to grace your home with their Mid-Century Modern MAGNIFICENCE!!! They would be wonderful together in a bedroom separated with a nightstand between or separate them and use one in one bedroom and one in another, or…set them beside each other, turn the twin mattress sideways OR place one on each end of a twin mattress and you have a unique daybed or chaise! OR, set them side by side and use them as a headboard for your king size bed using...

Questions About Hitchcock More Furniture and Collectibles
- What is a Hitchcock chair?1 Answer1stDibs ExpertFebruary 22, 2021Hitchcock chairs are 19th century-style chairs that were popular in the middle class as an emblem of social mobility. The chairs were affordable due to their easily mass-produced stenciling technique that replaced earlier painting designs.
- Are Hitchcock chairs valuable?1 Answer1stDibs ExpertFebruary 1, 2024Yes, some Hitchcock chairs are valuable. However, even early pieces made when the company first launched in the 19th century were mass produced, so chairs manufactured by the brand may not sell at price points as high as other antique furnishings. How much a particular Hitchcock chair is worth depends on its style, age, condition and rarity. A certified appraiser or knowledgeable antiques dealer can help you determine the estimated value of your chair. On 1stDibs, shop a collection of Hitchcock chairs.
- Are Hitchcock chairs still made?1 Answer1stDibs ExpertApril 5, 2022No, the Hitchcock Chair Company closed its doors in 2006. Hitchcock chairs were initially created by Lambert Hitchcock who decided he could mass produce chairs for people. By the 1820s the Hitchcock chair company was making 300 chairs a week, a remarkable number at a time when many pieces of furniture were being handmade one piece at a time. Shop a collection of properly vetted Hitchcock Chairs from some of the world’s top sellers on 1stDibs.
