Ilana Ingber Landscape Drawings and Watercolors
American, b. 1984
Ilana Gila Ingber (American, b. 1984) is an artist, teacher, entrepreneur, and life coach. She began her career in New York City where she worked for the Solomon R Guggenheim’s education department while attending Teachers College, Columbia University where she completed her Masters in Art and Art Education in 2010. She taught elementary and middle school art for ten years, reaching over 3000 students in public schools, private schools, museums, and through her own business. She has done an art residency at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, been represented in the a year with children exhibit at the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, and sold drawings and paintings all over the country. In 2015, Ingber opened Camp Happy Heart - an arts summer camp - and received the Santa Cruz Sentinel’s award for best youth recreation in Santa Cruz County in 2020. Additionally, Ingber has mentored over 100 art teachers on bringing mindfulness and wellness education into the art studio. Ingber's work is heavily inspired by her years witnessing young children make art - she seeks to work quickly and confidently the way her Kindergarten artists attack the page with delight. Ingber enjoys making scribbles and marks and primarily creates loose colorful paintings. As a PTSD survivor and artist, she is motivated to use art as a healing tool for herself and others. Each time she sits down to create it is with the intention of growing more inner kindness so that she may embody more of that in the world.to
