Irene Georgopoulou is a contemporary realist pastel painter whose work transforms everyday objects into luminous compositions that evoke emotional depth. Though primarily self-taught, this Greek artist has refined her skills through international workshops, establishing herself in the art world after committing to a full-time artistic career in 2009. Georgopoulou's distinctive technique involves meticulous layering and soft blending, creating a signature luminosity in her still lifes and portraits. Her subject matter includes pebbles, glass marbles, shells, toys, and board games, often arranged to evoke nostalgia and curiosity about hidden narratives. With numerous accolades to her credit, including awards from the Richeson75 competitions and Pastel 100, Georgopoulou has exhibited extensively across the United States, Greece, Turkey, Italy, France, and China.
