SEAL ROCKS WAVES #27 New South Wales 2012
By Jay Mark Johnson
Located in Santa Monica, CA
This large format, color-photograph belongs to Jay Mark Johnson's wave series - the images from which depict the rhythmic cycling and recycling of oceanfront waves as recorded on remote coastlines around the world--in Hawaii, Florida, California, the Caribbean, Great Britain, Australia and South Africa. These artworks belong to the artist’s ongoing inquiry into the possibilities for timeline photography. For this decades-long project Johnson employs an unconventional camera system to produce seamless delineated renderings of familiar events as they occur over time. The results present an altered view of our surroundings. Artworks from Johnson’s timeline series have been exhibited extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe. They can be found in the permanent collections of the Bundestag (German Parliament) in Berlin, the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie at Karlsruhe, the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation, the Phoenix Art Museum, the Langen Foundation, Hombroich, Germany, the Peter Klein...

OFF TO BE MILKED BY MACHINES
By Jay Mark Johnson
Located in Santa Monica, CA
Over the last decade, Johnson has rigorously pursued the possibilities of timeline photography. His artwork captures the fluid gestures of Tai Chi and dance, the rush of cars, trains and people, and the infinite cycling of beachfront waves. But within his images the rules for representing reality have shifted. Shadows are crisscrossed and the relative speed of an object determines its size. Moving objects...

Sombras Doradas (5) Large Scale Photo, Desert Silhouette Sunset Yellow Gold
By Sophia Milligan
Located in Penzance, GB
'Sombras Doradas (2)' Limited edition archival photograph. Unframed, hand signed and numbered _________________ Shadows painted on the finca wall: low December sun, golden, luminous, casting soft silhouettes through the aperture of the Eucalyptus leaves. Sophia's poetic photographs are an exploration of the balance in all things: in the sensual interplay of light and shadow; in wild raw energy and serene stillness; in the enduring and the effervescent. They are a contemplation of the awareness that everything in existence is temporary, they speak of the ephemeral nature of all things. Moments, feelings, experiences cherished and appreciated in their impermanence, for that is where the beauty comes from. 'I work with time, and the immeasurable spaces of experience within... tangible traces, evidence left behind, records; process in action, stilled'. 40 x 60 inches Limited edition of 25 Archival Print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag® paper, one of the most beautiful and high quality art papers available. The luxurious matt finish provides a reflection free image that is rich in detail, depth and tone. Hand signed, titled and numbered to the lower right corner on an approximately 1 inch white border. Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity featuring a signature and edition number. Other sizes available, please contact * Please note that images of the artwork in situ and framed are an indication of how the piece can look, and in the context of other artworks. By Sophia Milligan
Located in Penzance, GB
'Towards Your Heart' Limited edition archival photographic triptych. Unframed, hand signed and numbered (Edition number 3 of 25) _________________ It is not the size Nor power from which you fly But towards your heart The wild Atlantic explodes in raw abandon, given scale in this daring dance by the graceful flight of the sea bird. Sophia's poetic photographs are an exploration of the balance in all things: in the sensual interplay of light and shadow; in wild raw energy and serene stillness; in chaos and harmony; in the enduring and the effervescent. They are a contemplation of the awareness that everything in existence is temporary, they speak of the ephemeral nature of all things. Moments, feelings, experiences cherished and appreciated in their impermanence, for that is where the beauty comes from. 'I work in a balancing act of control and freedom; of discipline and guidance, whilst simultaneously relinquishing all authority and throwing the odds to the winds, to chance encounters and the unexpected'. By Slim Aarons
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Slim Aarons's iconic photograph of 70's vintage seagoing glamour, captured onboard the wood-trimmed deck of the yacht 'Ondine' in Bermuda, June 1970. Figures in the foreground are offset by cheery yellow and red. Guests wear coral, navy, pastels, and whites, including classic vintage Pucci. The ship's name and home marina of New York are stenciled in gold on the white hull. Slim Aarons Party in Bermuda...
