John Doyle Drawings and Watercolor Paintings
John Doyle was one of the most famous and prolific illustrators of the 19th century in Europe who was born in Dublin, Ireland. He was active in London from 1822. For more than 20 years, in the first half of the 19th century, he produced an important number of political and social vignettes by the pen name H.B. the series Political Sketches is the most important series by Doyle. It includes 683 lithographs published by Thomas McLean between 1829–41. Doyle died at Maida Hill, London, on January 2, 1868.
