John Johnston Furniture
Scottish, 1603-1675
John Johnston was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He studied under his father, Thomas Johnston and John Gore and became one of Boston’s most prolific embroidery pattern makers. He also evolved to be one of Boston’s best portrait painters, with subjects including Samuel Adams and George Washington and many other Boston elites.
