An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Georgian English sterling silver candlesticks; an addition of our ornamental silverware collection. These exceptional antique George III sterling silver candlesticks have been crafted in an elegant, classic English form. The swept capitals are embellished with fluted decoration and retain the original hallmarked detachable push fit sconces. Each circular sconce displays the contemporary bright cut engraved initials 'TIG' and is encompassed with bead decoration to the rim. The upper portion of each tapering column is embellished with a plain stepped square knop. The tapering column is ornamented with further fluted decoration and bears a plain swept square boss to the lower portion. The swept square bases are embellished with bands of embossed bead decoration, in addition to impressive bright cut engraved cartouches encompassing the contemporary initials 'TIG'.
