Ficks Reed Far Horizons rattan barrel chair with matching side table. This set dates from the 1950s and has been updated with a new custom made tropical pattern seat cushion along with two custom throw pillows for the back. The chair is comfortable with or without the cushions. Each of the custom made throw pillows are reversible. One side is a kiwi green vinyl, the opposite is slightly lighter green fabric. The end table features its original white tile top with Asian inspired emblems on top. Sold as a set. Complete your Ficks Reed set with our Far Horizons pagoda coffee table (sold separately). Amazing vintage rattan Campaign Style Ficks Reed Far Horizons Collection 4-piece set including a lounge chair, sofa, coffee & end table by John Wisner. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. All pieces have been cleaned and Danish oiled. Brass caps on chair and sofa have a purposeful patina. There are 3 hairline cracks in the tile of the coffee table and both the coffee table & end table have been reglued & caulked. The cushions are nice on the sofa and chair, but you may want to reupholster. The wrap on one leg of the sofa and one arm wrap on the chair has been replaced. A stunning set of Ficks Reed Fabulous-ness!!! This 4-piece set is from Ficks Reed’s Far Horizons collection by John Wisner which was introduced in 1954. Let’s start with the wonderful lounge chair and sofa! They are comprised of stout rattan with gorgeous woven raffia seat and backs. They retain their original Ficks Reed tag and their warm and lovely finish which has aged to perfection. They are both designed with sturdy crossbars under the seats, arm stretchers, and the front of the chair and sofa features double rattan bars. The rattan arm bars are held with rattan ties that extend from the front and back legs and wrap around the arm. A Super cool feature! And both ends of the arms are capped with brass tips. Rattan ties cover the top back seat corners and front corners of the seat base, and it looks FABULOUS! They both have loose cushions and the gorgeous coral fabric on the lounge chair blends beautifully with the lovely floral fabric with coral blossoms and green & beige stems and leaves on the sofa cushions. They’re gorgeous AND very comfortable… in part due to the webbed raffia seat and back under the cushions of the lounge chair and back cushions of the sofa. The decking under the seating of the sofa is a not woven, it is fabric. Both the coffee and end table are comprised of a stout rattan base, and they feature a wonderful white tile top including tiles with black painted Asian designs of fans and symbols… The end table is rectangle, and the coffee table is a large square, and they look phenomenal when grouped with the sofa and lounge chair. And the overall design of this awesome Campaign style 4-piece set is classic allowing it to work with many decor aesthetics and styles from traditional to mid-century modern. Ready to redecorate?
