Considered one of the architects of British blues, Kim Simmonds was the founder and lead guitarist of the internationally known Rock and Roll and Blues band SAVOY BROWN. He started the Savoy Brown Blues Band in October 1965 and early gigs included performing with Cream and accompanying John Lee Hooker. On stage in America, the group was supported by Rod Stewart and the Faces and the group KISS opened for Savoy Brown in the early days.
As a soloist and leader of Savoy Brown, Kim Simmonds has released over 47 albums. This painting is as much a part of Music memorabilia...

Kim would always sign his paintings before he was ready to ship them. At the time of his passing Kim had paintings in his studio that were not yet signed. This is one of those paintings. Included with the purchase of this painting is a certificate of Authenticity letter signed by Kim's wife, stating that this is one of the paintings from Kim's studio that was not yet signed but it is 100% guaranteed to be an original painting by Kim Simmonds. I have included an image of 5 paintings that we just received from Kim's wife. This painting along with 4 other paintings. Two are signed and three are unsigned.
Kim Simmonds was the founder and lead guitarist of the internationally known Rock and Roll and Blues band, Savoy Brown. He brought the energy and emotion that was evident in his guitar playing to his canvases. Kim's paintings have an excitement to them. They are filled with color, Texture and spontaneity.

Steve Capper attended Manchester’s High School of Art in 1955, the Manchester College of Art in 1962 and Bretton Hall College in 1965. He taught painting for thirty years as head of a large art faculty in an Oldham comprehensive school, before taking early retirement in 1996 to concentrate on producing his own work.
Capper produces on-the-spot sketches which are then taken into his studio where he re-works them into a painting. Both his landscapes and his still-life paintings reflect the influences of the cubists and the fauves. The work of Picasso, Braque and Matisse are amongst his major influences.
