Marco Rossati Figurative Paintings

Italian, b. 1943

Marco Rossati was born at Reggio Emilia, Italy in 1943. He studied at the Istituto d’Arte and the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome with Mino Maccari, Renato Guttuso, Franco Gentilini, Ferdinando Bologna. He later taught at the same Academy. At that time, he met Giorgio De Chirico, whose art fascinated him since he was a child and became his pupil for several years. In the 70s, he was already among the principal exponents of the Italian group Arte Colta, from the beginning of it till 80s, actively recuperate from interior forms and themes of the art of 500 and 600, opening the way to a kind of painting which later had to become fashionable all over the world. But at the beginning of the 90s, Rossati strongly felt the nostalgic necessity to get back to his metaphysical, original inspiration, never parted, however, from a high-quality texture of the painting. Belonging to this long Rossiatian period, which arrives practically to our days, paintings like Il mancino pescatore di linee, Blue Circe, Pinocchio, Il tritone and so on. Rossati has been a guest on radio and television for interviews and services about his work and general themes of art. He collaborates as a critic with several newspapers and magazines. He publishes as a poet and writer. He is Director of the Scuola di Pittura Scienza dell’Arte of Rome and President of Unione Artisti. He wrote and directed the movies for the television L’Anticroste. Marco Rossati lives and works in Rome.

"We Lost the North", Wood Crack, Compass, Money, Flower, Symbolism Oil Painting
By Andrée Bars
Located in Clermont-Ferrand, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes
Named « We lost the North », this symbolist oil painting on canvas represents a great fracture symbolized by a crack in the wood in its middle. Fracture between the world of the finance and the nature. The trap is to always quantify with money and not to take into account the insects and the plants, our planet. Hence the compass on the side of nature, because according to the French expression, "we have lost the North", which means that we do not know where we are going. Andrée Bars is a French painter. Having been strictly trained for 4 years by the American hyper-realist painter Mr. Ted Seth Jacobs, who himself inherited 19th century masters’ skills from his own professor, Andrée Bars learned the profession of painting in its purest tradition. She still applies these ancient masters...
