Pearl Johnson Art

American

Ellen Pearl Johnson was an exceptionally talented artist, and her execution of brushwork is inspiring. She was born on June 18, 1935. The family moved to Northern California in the early 1960s due to a job opportunity for her husband with the Atomic Energy Commission in Berkeley, California at the time. Ellen took many art classes in Berkeley. Her early works were oil paintings. She expanded her skills to pencil and to colored pencil, and her last works were in pastels. In between painting, she also did woodcarving and ceramics. She died at her home in Walnut Creek, California, on February 5, 2019.
