Richard Weers Art
Richard Weers began his full-time painting career in 1974 after many years of training. Two years of art study in Japan under T. Nakamura and Cheri Murray were followed by academic study in several universities. He studied art at The University of Southern Mississippi and was a graduate of the Famous Artist Schools, Westport, Connecticut. He received his BA degree from Texas Lutheran College, which was followed by two years of postgraduate study in art at Southwest Texas State University. He studied at the Art League, New York City under David A. Leffel and Frank Mason. Weers is a member of several art organizations in Texas and has received numerous awards for his painting in Mississippi and Texas. His studio is located in Converse, Texas, just outside of San Antonio.
