This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver gallery tray has a rectangular form. The hallmarked galleried border of the tray is embellished with pierced vertical pales with chamfered terminals accented with ovoid motifs to the upper and lower portions. The impressive gallery incorporates an oval shaped inset handle to either tapering end. This antique tray is further embellished with an applied bead decorated border to the rim. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver tea caddy has a plain oval shaped form onto a plain oval spreading pedestal foot to a collet rim, in the classic English Adam style. The surface of this fine silver tea caddy box is plain and unembellished, with an applied reed decorated border to the upper portion. This antique sterling silver tea caddy retains the original hallmarked domed hinged cover surmounted with the original sterling silver topped, carved pineapple-style finial. Condition This antique silver tea caddy is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
