Zack Whitford Portrait Photography

Zack Whitford is an American documentary photographer, based in Los Angeles, USA. Before coming to California, he spent his early years in Massachusetts, as well as on the road with his father, a member of the rock group, Aerosmith. His career as a photographer began in 2011 when a hobby for the craft quickly transitioned into a full-time job. His early work was purely freelance, focusing mainly on commissions and events. Eventually, Whitford made his way into the music business, where his work caught the attention of the members of Aerosmith and their management. He was reintroduced to the road-life but now as the Aerosmith’s official photographer. Recently, his work can be seen in Rolling Stone, Esquire, The Red Bulletin The Hollywood Reporter.

Syrian Girl by Zack Whitford - Contemporary Portrait Photography
By Zack Whitford
Located in Chicago, IL
Syrian Girl Beqaa Valley, 2015 Zack Whitford’s expertise lies in capturing facial expressions and emotions as they occur, creating truly empathetic images. The gaze of the young Syrian girl who was photographed at a refugee camp in the Beqaa Valley incorporates the entire thesis of Humanity, instantly drawing the audience to her and forcing them to care for her, whether consciously or not. To view this image is to realize that Whitford’s stance is not to convey his own emotions, but to reveal to his audience that which already exists in the world of humankind and why we should care for it. Archival Pigment Print on Archival Canson Platine Fibre Rag paper. Signed and numbered by the artist. Edition size: 25 16" x 20" Print Please inquire for framing options. Syrian Boy by Zack Whitford - Humanity - Contemporary Portrait Photography
By Zack Whitford
Located in Chicago, IL
Syrian Boy Beqaa valley, 2015 Whitford’s emotional image serves as a spiritual twin to the SYRIAN GIRL piece in Humanity. Depicting another child at the Syrian refugee camp in the Beqaa Valley, this photograph argues for social justice and equality through the young boy’s innocent, doleful expression. The wooden barriers that surround him further the impact of the image’s thesis, not only specifying that the boy is separated from the viewer, but also that we are separated from him. Archival Pigment Print on Archival Canson Platine Fibre Rag paper. Signed and numbered by the artist. Edition size: 25 16" x 20" Print Please inquire about framing options.
