A broad and luminous urban-rural landscape by Agustín Pardo de Santayana, one of the most active Cantabrian painters of the 20th century.

Artist Biography
Agustín Pardo de Santayana González (1923–1995) was a Cantabrian painter specializing in portrait and landscape. He trained partially in Italy before returning to Santander, where he established his career. His work is characterized by solid technical mastery, balanced compositions, and an enduring interest in light and the spontaneity of oil painting.
He completed institutional commissions —including an official portrait of King Juan Carlos I— and his work is represented in both public and private collections in Cantabria.
