Artist biography:
Endlessly enthralled by the Atlantic ocean, Lenny Cornforth takes inspiration from the northern coast of Cornwall, using layers of translucent colour and texture to construct vibrant and emotional paintings evoking the joyful colours of the beaches around her.
A keen sailor and surfer, Lenny draws on her own experiences on the Northern coast of Cornwall to inform her compositions. Tiny figures across each painting, whether they are surfing, sailing or sunbathing hold an intriguing narrative within each piece. Evoking memories of long sunny days by the sea, exploring coastal paths and stretching out on the golden sand.
After graduating from Newcastle University with a degree in Fine Art, Lenny has exhibited widely in the UK including The Crypt Gallery in St.Ives, Oxford Castle, Edinburgh Art Fair, Waterperry Gardens and the Scin Gallery in London. However she has always been drawn back to Cornwall, where she currently lives near Bodmin with her husband and son, two dogs and dorset sheep.

Lenny Cornforth lässt sich von der Nordküste Cornwalls inspirieren und verwendet Schichten durchscheinender Farben und Texturen, um lebendige und emotionale Gemälde zu schaffen, die die fröhlichen Farben der sie umgebenden Landschaft hervorrufen. Ich arbeite sowohl in Öl als auch in Acryl, und jedes Werk entwickelt sich allmählich, wobei jede Schicht die Formen innerhalb des Bildes festlegt. Als begeisterte Seglerin und Surferin lässt Lenny ihre Kompositionen oft von ihren eigenen Erfahrungen im Meer, von tagelangen Spaziergängen an der Küste und von Sommern im Sand inspirieren. Ein großer Teil ihrer Arbeit basiert auf dem Camel Estuary, wo sie das Segeln gelernt hat. Nach seinem Abschluss in Bildender Kunst an der Universität Newcastle hat Lenny zahlreiche Ausstellungen in Großbritannien absolviert, darunter Oxford Castle, Edinburgh Art Fair, Waterperry Gardens und die Scin Gallery in London. Dennoch hat es sie immer wieder nach Cornwall gezogen, wo sie derzeit mit ihrem Mann und ihrem Sohn, zwei Hunden und 50 Dorset-Schafen in der Nähe von Bodmin lebt.
