In recent years, a growing trend has emerged toward frequently replacing kitchen furniture, which is commonly made from materials such as chipboard or MDF and is difficult to reuse or recycle. In response to this issue, our proposal focuses on repurposing these materials to create the TAMER side table, a design inspired by the principles of the De Stijl artistic movement. Originating in the early 20th century, De Stijl is known for its abstract and minimalist aesthetic, characterized by geometric forms and a reduced visual language. The structural concept of the TAMER table reflects these principles through its clean lines and balanced composition. The table was constructed entirely from recycled wood sourced from discarded kitchen furniture. The material is carefully treated and finished with natural paint to enhance durability while maintaining an environmentally conscious approach. This piece is part of a collection developed in collaboration with the LOOP Project, which promotes circular economy practices, and the Deixalles Foundation, an organization specializing in the collection and recovery of reusable materials. At present, the pieces are produced using chipboard or MDF and finished with a lacquered surface. BY Adriane Escarfullery’s biography is a fusion of experiences, education, research, and work, shaped by various influences that have defined his professional journey. His entry into design began in Palma de Mallorca in 2010, where he pursued part of his studies and collaborated with renowned local firms. However, the pursuit of new challenges led him to Lyon in 2013. There, he continued his education and had the opportunity to collaborate with architect and furniture designer Jérôme Sornay. From him, he learned to strike a balance between design and comfort and developed a deep respect for the natural environment. A year later, in 2014, he established himself in London, combining his architecture studies with work at various firms, notably Desitecture, an urban and interior design research group founded by Layton Reid. With them, he contributed to the development of skyscrapers and cutting-edge architectural projects. Since 2016, Adriane has undertaken numerous architectural projects in various locations across Europe, the Caribbean, and Central America. He has collaborated with globally renowned firms like Benoy, learning, among other things, the importance of placing people at the heart of every project. Another pivotal aspect of Adriane’s progression has been the international awards he has received for his involvement in different architectural projects. These recognitions have helped solidify his values and shape his work philosophy. In the crucial year of 2020, Adriane took a decisive step by founding his own furniture design studio in Palma de Mallorca. This significant decision was greatly influenced by his father, who possesses an impressive furniture collection and has played a decisive role in his journey. It marked the beginning of this new and exciting chapter in his career.
