This is an important Gustav Stickley 8-Leg Sideboard from 1901 in Excellent Condition with great strap hinge hardware
pull hardware that you don't often see.
Gustav made this model at the beginning of his work. There are very few examples of this. It was apparently too expensive to manufacture at this quality level. It is in excellent condition with original fume black finish. Also with Chamfered Board construction on the top dish holders. The sideboard also came with eight rare star wroth iron pulls. All of the hardware is iron. Signed with a 1901 box decal (as pictured).
The sideboard is double pinned all around as pictured. All edges are sharp with no damage. The piece shows 99% of the original finish from nearly 125 years of normal use. Made from an excellent selection of quarter-sawn oak. All except one of the screws are original - one was missing.

H -from floor to to top 38.5 inch PLUS 10.5 Inch for the dish holder on top.
Gustav Stickley was a great artist. All of the furniture he made was "through tenon"
pinned construction. This is why furniture from 120+ years ago still looks brand new. (Manufacturers of reproduction furniture use glue to "fool" buyers that their pieces are "through tenon" construction.) This is a rare set of four (4) chairs made by PAIL Brothers in the early 1900s
John and Joseph in Binghamton NY and they were the expert in steaming bending wood in the early 1900s, with original all spindles and no bow.
They are in very good condition. There are three (3) arm chairs and one (1) arm rocker. The chairs are barrel chairs with a great selection of quarter sawn oak. The seats have been reupholstered with black hand-spun leather with cotton and hair filling (NO sponge!). The chairs look like they have the original finish. In the early 1900s the top of the line artist who made Art &Crafts (Mission) were Gustav Stickley and four his brothers, Charles LIMBERT and ROYCROFT sure few generic furniture try to copy the Gustav Stickley works.
a few names as Lifetime, Barber brothers, Harden, Shop of the crafters in Cincinnati in OH and J M Young an few other furniture makers.
We think the top two artist were Gus Stickley and C Limbert, both almost all the furniture they designed were with REAL Truth Tenon construction and this is why we see around the works of these artist you can see around in excellent condition after over 120 yrs.
Gus Stickley made his best work in the early period (We trying to purchase from this period) but for sure C Limbert early works was good, and the later work were the best. We getting most of the furniture from collection in NY, Philly and lately from Corning NY area (and most the GOOD antique rugs).
We see most of the Stickley furniture on the east coast before any other dealer, we pay a little more than other but we get the BEST.
We see many fake furniture on line like Reproduction Stickley Audi BUT we see few made by the low end furniture maker as Lifetime and other around and the seller call it GUSTAV STICKLEY and even on 1st Dibs we see a bookcase and another listing A Morris chair with foot stool, they call it GUSTAV STICKLEY Morris...

This has been made in the early period of C LIMBERT with the original Limbert seat which is very important.
This settee is with very long corbel on the front left and right sides.
The leather upholstery made may be mad ten yrs ago and its in great shape.
In the past we used to sell this LIMBERT model for much higher price.
