Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999) was a French architect and designer who studied at the École de l'Union centrale des Arts décoratifs from 1920-1925. She collaborated with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret until 1937, designing innovative tubular steel furnishings and system furniture. In 1937, she and Pierre Jeanneret designed a mountain chalet made of sheet aluminium, which they showcased at the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne. The scale is perfect as it had to be and the quality of work is evident.
Further inspection reveals that no detail was too small, as evidenced by the carved small boats, the ropes, poles and fittings. 5 feet long.
