This is a bronze sculpture of a boy, made by famous Spanish sculptor Josép Cardona i Furró (1878-1922). Cardona was a good friend of Pablo Picasso and also shared a studio with him. He is part of the second generation of Spanish modernist sculptors. He worked mainly in Spain, but also did work in Paris - which might explain the French inscription on this very sculpture.

The sculptural floor lamp in chrome-plated aluminium has a rotating disc that allows customisation of the reflection of the glare-free light emitted by the LED light source elegantly submerged in the frame. The disc rotates 360° around its own axis and is white on one side and reflective on the other. Tilted towards the white side, the light becomes soft and diffuse, whereas the opposite chrome side reflects the light panel directly for a completely different expression. Most likely constructed of sections of laminated basswood stained with a dark stain, it has an integral plinth with button feet and a carved signature the base.
The sharp angular lines of the body are starkly contrasted by the soft-edged, almost nondescript depiction of the head and face.
Blai was born in Russia and studied in academies in St. Petersburg, Paris, and eventually under Auguste Rodin.
