The upholstery is plush brown chevron velour, originally tufted, deep in pile and texture, evoking both luxury and vintage warmth. The fabric has been professionally steam-cleaned, retaining much of its original character though showing minimal, age-appropriate wear that affirms authentic vintage pedigree.
Condition is excellent. Chrome surfaces are bright with only subtle flaws visible under close inspection. Upholstery is sound: seams are tight, backs straight, cushions supportive. Minor signs of use—slight darkening or softening in high-contact areas.

A superb pair of Milo Baughman’s legendary 951 flat-bar lounge chairs for Thayer Coggin, these pieces stand as paragons of mid-century modern elegance.

Design is distinctly Chinoiserie, with an Asian-inspired silhouette: the crown is pagoda-notched, the blade-like backs curve inward following the spine’s shape for ergonomic support. Frames are solid wood, original finish clean with only minor blemishes; seat cushions have been re-upholstered in a neutral blended fabric combining tones of gray, brown, black and white—modern yet complementary to the frame tones.
Restoration has reinforced structural joints; the wood surfaces have been cleaned, polished, and detailed so the grain and contour shine. The overall presence is both elegant and bold—chairs that bring visual rhythm to a dining set, a media console, or curated furniture group. Only minor imperfections remain on frames. All chairs are sturdy.
