Large Chalice sapphire clear blue applied pattern on translucent blown glass attributed to Artistica Barovier (1919-1936) circa 1920. This goblet sits on a long stem with two decorated glass balls and a small central glass ball resting on a splayed foot. The name chalice is borrowed from Greek (kulix), cup. A chalice is often used for drinking during a ceremony or may convey a distinct symbolic meaning.

From 1933 to 1947 Scarpa became the artistic consultant to Venini from 1933 to 1947 the glass manufacturer, one of the great celebrated glass works in the history of design. Carlo Scarpa’s highly inventive use of traditional Murano techniques resulted in this original sculptural and sensually formed crimson dish companied by its pestle. Scarpa's success was to look to the past with an innovative approach towards technique and creativity giving birth to the avant-garde.

This exceptional vintage Russian silver gilt and polychrome cloisonné enamel tea strainer has a circular rounded form.
The bowl of the tea strainer is embellished with a pierced concentric circular design, encircled with Dual bands of white enamel bead motifs to the rim.
The tapering handle is embellished with an impressive cloisonné enamel floral and foliate design in tones of blue and green, accented with further bands of white enamel circular motifs encompassing the concave thumb piece.
The enamel segments are encompassed with applied silver paralleling rope twist ornamentation.
This fine Russian silver enamel tea strainer retains the original gilding.
