This elegant drinking cup features a shallow bowl, graceful elongated handles with upturned ends, and a low foot—classic elements of the South Italian Greek kylix form.
The exterior displays a warm natural clay ground contrasted with strong black-painted decoration, while the interior is finished in a rich, lustrous black slip. The combination of geometric leaf stylisation and refined proportions places this kylix within the later phase of Apulian regional production. the style developed in Athens and later was widely adopted by Greek colonies in Southern Italy.
