Carl is an elegant figurative bronze sculpture by Nando Kallweit.
Modelled on modern youthful postures but with a nod to the importance of heritage through the stylised Egyptian-influenced head. A lovely piece on its own or with a group of friends.
Nando produces each piece using the lost wax process. He makes a wax model, lowers it into wet ceramic, allows the ceramic to dry, bakes the ceramic so that the wax melts and the mould is bone dry then pours his molten bronze into the cavity.
Each piece in the series is unique and named. Nando also hammers his mark into the base.

Nando Kallweit
Nando Kallweit es un escultor alemán que trabaja en bronce y roble. De joven, se sintió inspirado por la belleza y la antigüedad de un busto de Nefertiti conservado en el Museo Egipcio de Berlín. Tras la caída del Muro de Berlín, sus nuevas libertades le permitieron viajar a Egipto y desarrollar su creencia en la fuerza y el orgullo básicos inherentes a la inhumanidad. Sus esculturas tratan de subrayarlo mediante formas alargadas y posturas erguidas. Reduce las figuras a gestos y movimientos sencillos, creando esculturas con una maravillosa interacción entre lo arcaico y lo moderno; entre el arte y el diseño. La obra de Nando se ha expuesto en toda Europa y forma parte de numerosas colecciones privadas. Ha realizado varias instalaciones permanentes a gran escala para municipios y museos alemanes.
