One of a kind oil on canvas landscape by the Catalan artist Ricard Arenys Galdón, a prominent painter and engraver, especially renowned for his portraits and landscapes, genres in which he excelled due to his style that evolved from realism towards a freer and more expressionistic interpretation. Throughout his career, he maintained a deep connection with nature and the rural environment, recurring themes in his work, often reflected in Impressionist landscapes and portraits of everyday life.
Arenys was part of the second generation of Catalan artists who, after the Civil War, sought to revive landscape painting, albeit with a freer and more modern interpretation. In his early years, his style was closer to realism, but he soon gravitated towards a looser and more spontaneous technique, influenced by French painting and artists such as Van Gogh and Cézanne. Through quick brushstrokes and vibrant colors, his works express the movement of light and the transformation of nature, without adhering strictly to exact representation.

Ricard Arenys Galdón (Barcelona, 1914 – 1977)
Trained in Barcelona, Ricard Arenys held numerous exhibitions of his work from 1934 onwards, both in his hometown and in Madrid, Paris, and London. He participated in the Barcelona Spring Exhibition in 1934 and in the National Exhibition held in the same city in 1944. At the National Exhibition in Madrid in 1945, he was awarded the third medal, also participating in the 1950 edition, and in 1955 he was awarded the second medal. His work is currently represented in numerous public and private collections, including that of the AMYC Foundation Museum in Madrid.
