The view originates from Frederik Ludvig Norden’s Voyage d’Egypte et de Nubie, first published in Copenhagen in 1755, one of the most influential pre-Napoleonic visual records of Egypt.
Norden’s work is distinguished by its balanced combination of architectural accuracy, landscape composition, and lived experience along the Nile.
