SCULPTED GEOMETRIES
The first project by Ferréol Babin for Cassina and the second chapter of the Patronage project, Polyshape echoes some concepts already introduced by the designer in unique works and art pieces – the composition of simple shapes, the balance of geometries – updating proportions and materials to create a lamp available in two sizes, table and floor, and three metal finishes.

Polyshape is the first project by Ferréol Babin for Cassina, artist and designer and new Patronage protégé, the company project whose objective is to cultivate young international talent, support culture, and develop creative ideas.
Available both as a floor lamp and a table lamp, it is characterized by the composition of primary forms based on drawings the designer has already experimented with in some artistic productions and limited editions. Made of matte painted metal, this collection of lamps features an LED reading light – dimmable thanks to a sphere located on the base – and, in the floor lamp, also a diffused light source housed in the top of the lamp.

In a continuing dialogue between past, present, and future, Cassina has created the I Maestri collection, revisiting furnishing designs by the twentieth century’s best-known architects, including Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Gerrit Thomas Rietveld, Franco Albini, Frank Lloyd Wright and Marco Zanuso. While the designs and functional concepts have been precisely preserved, the models have been manufactured using evolved technology. Today Cassina continues to look to the future of design with audacious, passionate curiosity and an open, holistic approach. It affirms its exclusive ability to furnish a home’s living and dining spaces completely and iconically with The Cassina Perspective: a concept, a philosophy, an informed, futuristic thought.
