This exceptional Antique Caucasian Shirvan Runner Rug is a finely woven and historically rich textile from the East Caucasus, dating to the mid-19th century, circa 1860. Measuring 115 x 351 cm (approx. 3'9" x 11'6"), its impressive length and intricate, all-over design make it a commanding art piece for a long corridor, gallery, or sophisticated living area.
The central field features a deep indigo/navy blue ground, which is almost entirely covered by a vertical, repeating pattern of connected hexagonal (six-sided) medallions.
