About the Item
An antique Japanese, late Meiji era, enamel over copper belt buckle. The ware consists of two parts with a clasp. The belt buckle is covered with polychrome enamel medallions representing floral, foliage and swirl motifs surrounded by a geometrical ornament on the borders made in the Cloisonne technique. Decorated with scalloped rims. Unmarked. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. Antique and Vintage Asian and Oriental Enamel Silver Belt Buckles and Accessories, and Collectibles.
