About the Item

Having belonged to a prominent Victorian-era surgeon whose family estate was in Mexico, this hat has traveled the world and has the transport stickers from Chile and Japan to prove it. Made of superior-quality beaver fur (the kind that required mercury and made hatters “mad”), the sheen is extraordinary and glows from every perspective. Beaver fur top hat with rolled grosgrain brim edge and 1 ¾” felted wool band; interior leather sweatband. Fully lined with ivory silk satin.
